Rotary Fish Derby Donates $10,000 to Ultrasound Campaign

Rotary Fish Derby making donation

The Chapleau General Hospital Foundation would like to thank Chapleau's Rotarians and all fish derby participants who are helping make better ultrasounds possible in Chapleau. The Hospital Foundation began fundraising for a new ultrasound machine in December 2015 and this generous donation has brought the Ultrasound Campaign above 40% of the $100,000 goal.

The Rotary Club of Chapleau has consistently supported the Hospital for many years. This latest donation of $10,000 will be used for buying an ultrasound known for high quality images, seeing deeper in the body, and even capturing small objects well.

"This is a considerable donation, especially given the hours of hard work that Rotarians put into the derby. Everyone benefits from having a well-equipped local hospital. The Rotary Club, and the 800 derby participants, now have a part in improving the quality of every ultrasound performed in Chapleau over the coming years" said Gail Bignucolo, former CEO of Services de santé de Chapleau Health Services.

Our goal is to have the new machine fully funded by December 2016. For more information on the campaign or how to donate please call 705-864-3053 or email foundation@sschs.ca.
