Local Generosity Ends Ultrasound Campaign Early

The Chapleau General Hospital Foundation would like to thank the people of Chapleau, local businesses, local First Nation communities, and non-profit organizations who came together to complete the Ultrasound Campaign two months ahead of schedule. Throughout this campaign for better ultrasounds we received over 30 donations by local businesses, communities, and non-profit groups and over 350 donations by individuals and families.

These contributions to health care will have a lasting impact. With over 800 ultrasounds performed annually, the need to have the best equipment for our community is paramount. Ultrasounds provide good information to health care teams throughout pregnancy and help diagnose medical conditions such as blood clots or tumours. Chapleau's new ultrasound machine will provide clearer images, can see deeper into the body, and is more energy efficient.

Ultimately, this campaign that started in December 2015 was about providing community members, friends, family, and neighbours with the best possible health care. Thank you to everyone who made this great success possible.

We hope you will continue to partner with us as we plan future campaigns for serving our community with excellence. Details will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information on the Hospital Foundation please visit our website at www.sschs.ca or find us on Facebook.
