Big Boost from Rebekahs and Oddfellows; Caring Project Seeks Christmas Donations

The local New Horizon Rebekah Lodge 391 and Independent Order of Odd Fellows have come together to help Chapleau residents living in long-term care. With a donation of $5,000 the Rebekahs and Oddfellows have replaced several pieces of furniture in the Bignucolo Residence. On behalf of the community, the Chapleau General Hospital Foundation would like to thank the members of the Rebekahs and Odd Fellows for their volunteerism and generosity.

The Bignucolo Residence is Chapleau's only long-term care residence. Since December 2016, the Caring Project has been fundraising to give brand new furniture to each of the twenty-five residents. So far, ten rooms have been fully paid for through the generosity of local donors. Each room costs $7,100 to refurnish so this is a remarkable achievement for our community.

To continue the momentum of the Project, the Hospital Foundation has launched its annual request for donations. If you live in the Chapleau area, you will receive a pamphlet in the mail soon that provides an update on the Project and asks you to consider donating during the holiday season. No amount is too small, and if we all chip-in we could pay for another resident's room together!
