The Chapleau General Hospital Foundation has reached our fundraising goal of $74,000 for our For the Heart, From the Heart, thanks to a $15,000 donation from Newmont Porcupine Gold Mines.

"We recognize the importance of contributing to the communities where our employees live and work. Supporting the Foundation with this contribution is extending a hand to our families and will benefit the entire community. We are pleased to do our part to help," said Bryan Neeley, Manager of Sustainability and External Relations at Newmont.

The campaign, which kicked off in March 2020, has enabled the Foundation to purchase new cardiac equipment for SSCHS, including an ECG machine, a vital signs monitor, and a telemetry machine. Together with a previous donation, Newmont contributed a total of $40,000 to this campaign throughout 2020.

These donations have allowed us to obtain the vital tools required to ensure the continued quality emergency care of Chapleau's citizens," said John Branchaud, Foundation Chair.
