Legion Charitable Foundation Donates $12,000 to Hospital Foundation

(Tuesday, June 6, 2022, Chapleau, ON) The Chapleau General Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce a $12,000 donation from the Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Command Branches and Ladies' Auxiliaries Charitable Foundation, which helped the Hospital Foundation purchase a new Zoll R-Series Monitor Defibrillator as well as an Arjo Alenti Hygiene Lift with scale for Services de santé de Chapleau Health Services (SSCHS).

The R-Series defibrillator, which is used on both the acute floor and long-term care wing, helps SSCHS staff consistently deliver high-quality CPR and provide optimal defibrillation and pacing treatments for patients of all ages.

The new lift enables SSCHS staff to provide a safe and comfortable bathing experience for residents and patients, while maintaining ergonomically sound working postures throughout the task. The integrated scale allows them to simultaneously weigh residents and patients to detect any changes that may indicate a shift in health status.

The Legion Charitable Foundation is supported through Legion branches and auxiliaries across the province through activities such as poppy tagging, bingo, break open tickets, raffles, and clubhouse operations. The Legion Charitable Foundation funds various healthcare-related initiatives in Ontario, which are normally beyond the means of individual branches.
