Employee Spotlight

Chantal Wiecha in her office

My name is Chantal Wiecha, and I've been working for SSCHS at Turning Point for 16 years now. A little bit about myself, I love to paint. I do a lot of "paint by numbers" I find it keeps my mind busy and also helps to decorate my house. I love gardening and walking my dog. My favorite place to be is at home with my family.

Can you describe what a typical day is like for you?

I love living so close to work, I get to walk to work every day. I work with Meditech, booking appointments, rescheduling etc. I answer the telephone and make lots of phone calls. Send email and text reminders. I also get visits from the Cedar Grove tenants. I complete stats for Mental Health + Addiction + Crisis + Community services. Open and close client files. Scan and file. Greet and interact with the clients. Invoicing. I am responsible for the community services like Meals-on-Wheels and Helpline.

What's the best part about your job/ working for SSCHS?

The best part for me is my Turning Point co-workers and supervisor. We work great together! I feel appreciated and listened to.

What is one part of your job that might surprise people?

I install Helplines throughout the Chapleau community.

What made you decide to get into this field?

I've always loved working with the public. I've had several different jobs in my life, but being a receptionist is definitely my calling.
