Instead of just doing activities internally, they wanted to reach out to the community. They wanted to spread kindness all over Chapleau!

One of their initiatives was for each class (Kindergarten – Grade 12) to take a specific group in our community and do something special for them.

When you support the Golf Classic, you are making a direct positive impact on the health and well-being of Chapleau area residents and their families.

They sponsor individual holes and contribute prizes for holes-in-one, longest putt, and special skills competitions. They also cover meals, green fees, and cash donations. We can't say thank you enough for their generosity.

Of course, no fundraising event would be a success without the hard work and enthusiasm of our amazing volunteers. We really couldn't do what we do without them. Thank you!

Finally, we are grateful to the golfers themselves. They show up year after year with smiling faces, ready for a fun-filled day of friendly competition. We love seeing new faces too!

The Caring Project

Furniture

The local effort to replace furniture for Chapleau's long-term care residents is now complete.

The Chapleau General Hospital Foundation launched The Caring Project in December 2016 and successfully refurnished all 25 rooms at the Bignucolo Residence over the subsequent three years. Each room received a new low bed, mattress, dresser, wardrobe, and chair for our friends, neighbours, and family members in long-term care to enjoy.

We were able to reach our goal with thanks to United Way, various raffles, a yard sale, the Golf Classic, our first Oktoberfest in 2019, as well as many generous donations by community members.

The cost to replace the furniture in an entire suite is $7,100. Anyone who donated the full amount for a suite will have the room renamed in their honour. Donors will also be recognized in the main lobby of the Chapleau General Hospital on the Donor Recognition Wall. The Foundation is grateful for the community's ongoing support over the course of The Caring Project campaign.
